What I would like to do with a partner

Some ideas of things that we could do together:

  • Dancing Latin dance styles together
    • For content creation
    • For fun

What about for competitions? It interests me but I think the costs of it are higher than the rewards

I'd prefer do one's own thing with dancing like this couple did in recording wedding choreographies, not live in the shadows of someone else

  • Cooking plant-based recipes together

  • Crafting things together
    • E.g. Making bags
    • E.g. Making clothes
    • E.g. Making plushies

  • Doing recreational activities together
    • E.g. Air hockey
    • E.g. Hiking
    • E.g. Mini-golf
  • Doing sports together
    • E.g. Playing tennis
    • E.g. Playing badminton
    • E.g. Playing table tennis
    • E.g. Playing volleyball

  • Playing modern board games together. There's quite a diverse selection of games that can be played, something to appeal to everybody.

  • Playing co-op video games together that emphasize teamwork, where we're working together. Cuphead as an example.

  • Trying to make a LEGO MOC and seeing if LEGO would approve it for their LEGO ideas line 1)
  • Working on software engineering projects together

    • Can provide her input even if it's not her vocation. And I mean a “software engineering” project is quite cross-discipline. It could involve:
      • Aesthetic design
      • Cybersecurity
      • Law
      • Project management
      • Mathematics
      • Marketing
      • User psychology

Plus, the project itself can be for people from particular disciplines. For example, medical specialists use software for working with patient images 2). The defense force uses software for their “Fractl Portable High Energy Laser” that shoots down drones 3). The more mentally challenging the project is, the more I'd prefer to work on it with a team of people since it doesn't take long to enter “the territory of dark magic” (a term I'm borrowing from this video) where I don't have a clue what's happening and so begins, the hunt for someone that does

Because I'm hired and compensated on the basis of what I know in the field that I'm interested in, I've been investing quite a lot into one's professional development and I intend on continuing to do this even when I'm in industry. I don't have to know everything, however like COBOL, an ancient programming language. Just want to have deep knowledge of what I'm most interested in working with and what there's opportunities for

In one's spare time, I've been running an education-oriented software business so I'll probably be engaged in projects to help people learn for a long time. My first project that I'm currently working on is for dancers. After this, I'd like to work on something for language learners.

  • Working out together
    • E.g. Weightlifting
    • E.g. Swimming

  • Discussing books together. I read all kinds of books on all sorts of subjects.
    • Some of them are more interesting to a broader audience.

There are caveats to this. I prefer having discussions with people

  1. Who are well-read. I can't get along with people that can't be bothered reading, making me do all the mental work.
  2. That show intellectual humility.
    • That change their mind if proven wrong
    • That don't overestimate their knowledge
    • That don't overstate their knowledge
  3. That don't make incorrect claims
  4. That don't argue with experts

Industry experts with their PhDs and awards and books and high salaries for their knowledge are often less arrogant than village idiots in one's experience

  • Visiting the animals

  • Chilling together. Like to relax and cuddle 🤗

  • Learning together
  • Being there for each other
  • Building a future together
  • Pampering each other
  • Supporting each other
  • Sharing things with each other
    • E.g. Feelings
    • E.g. Thoughts
    • E.g. Experiences
    • E.g. Belongings (within reason)
  • Spending time with each other
  • Caring about each other
  • Connecting with each other

  • Working towards shared goals together
